Understanding Oxidation - Oxidation is a process of direct contact interaction between oxygen molecules and all the substances different from inanimate objects to living tissue such as plants. Technically, with the discovery of the electron, oxidation is more precisely defined as a loss of at least one electron when two or more substances interact.
